Trillion Setting

Cut 6 Wires

I cut ~4 inch strips of 21g square wire. Square works best to secure the stone, but round can work as well.

I bent them together to a loose 90 degree curve. You can wait until the next step to bend them, whatever is easier for you.

(I didn’t get a picture of all 6 wires together before realizing I was making this post, but believe me you need six in total!)

Attach 4

I used 18g half round to secure 4 wires together. You’ll want to take sure each set of two are on top of each other and heading in the same direction

Visualize

You can visualize here how the trillion will be set in the center, we are creating a triangle that will hold the trillion on all three sides.

Attach the next four wires.

Tip: It can be easier to loosely wrap the half round at a lower point - away from where it should be positioned.

You will need to then slide the wire up towards the center and squeeze them tight with your pliers once they are in place.

Two sides down, one more to go!

Create space for a seat

The top & bottom of the seat need to have space for the trillions edges to sit in. Gently pull the wires apart to create this room.

Set the Trillion in the seat.

Make adjustments as necessary if it isn’t sitting right.

Make room with the other 4 wires to fasten in the trillion on top and bottom before joining them.

Then join them together.

Wrap the last set of 4 wires together.

Be careful in this step, go slowly. Always check and ensure that the top and bottom of the trillion are covered with a wire, or it will fall through.

Secure the wire around these four wires as your last step.

Make sure you cut the wires/adjust them so the ends are not visual from the top.

Pictured here is the bottom of the faceted trillion.

Each side of the trillion is covered. You can gently squeeze the wires in more to really ensure the stone in secure.

Final Product! Happy wrapping, everyone! If you followed this tutorial, please take pictures of your trillion settings and tag #TheWobblyWookTutorials on social media! <3
